QA Automation Developer (Contract | Remote within Canada)

Location: Remote (Canada) with occasional travel to Edmonton, Alberta, if required
Contract Duration: September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027
Extension: Up to 24 months
Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

We are seeking experienced QA Automation Developers to join a large-scale digital transformation initiative focused on modernizing public digital services. You will be part of agile, cross-functional teams delivering innovative, user-centered solutions while ensuring the highest standards of software quality through automation.

Key Responsibilities

As a QA Automation Developer, you will:

  • Lead quality assurance efforts across multiple Agile product teams.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites.
  • Implement functional, integration, system, regression, security, load, and performance testing.
  • Support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with automated testing.
  • Promote quality engineering practices including:
    • Test-Driven Development (TDD)
    • Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
    • Code quality and test coverage
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and UX teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop reusable testing assets and automation components.
  • Assist with AI-enabled testing initiatives and reusable testing frameworks.
  • Define, collect, and report quality metrics through automated reporting.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and quality standards.
